Think about Blue Raspberry. Sometime between the network television debut of Mountain Dew and the demise of OK Soda, the good people at Southland Corporation (proprieters of North America's favourite convenience-store concern) introduced a new variety of semi-frozen beverage: the Blue Raspberry Slurpee.
"But," you're saying, "raspberries aren't blue." True enough. This didn't dissuade Southland, however; their Windex-hued, refreshingly tart concoction stole headlines for months. It even had Drew Barrymore wondering whether her reign as America's Sweetheart might soon come to an end.
Now think about bubble-gum ice cream. What colour is it?
